■ Water based acrylic sealant
■ Sealing construction joints and perimeter joints for fire restraint
■ Helps limit the spread of harmful gases, smoke and water
Water based acrylic sealant specially formulated as a fire barrier. Contains no asbestos or fibers. It has good adhesion to concrete and masonry substrates. Easy application and can be painted after curing. Flexible and resistant to water, gas and smoke.
It is suitable for sealing rigid joints or with restricted movement between walls and ceilings and with widths between 6 and 30mm. SURFACE PREPARATION
Substrate areas that will be in contact with the sealant must be clean, dry and free from all loose material, dust, dirt, rust, oil and other contaminants. Non-porous substrates should be cleaned with a solvent and a clean, lint-free cotton cloth. Remove residual solvent before it evaporates with a clean, dry cloth. For substrate applications other than those mentioned above, it is recommended to perform a test to evaluate the adhesion and compatibility of the sealant with the material.
HOW TO USE:
The joint shall be filled with rock wool as a backing material of at least d2 = 120mm. The silicone gasket must have a width of at least w = 15mm and a depth of d1 = 8mm. Cut the applicator nozzle at a 45° angle to the desired size and thickness. Apply sealant to the area and immediately finish with a spatula. After spatulation, remove the masking tape. We recommend cleaning the tools before curing the product, as after curing the sealant is only removed mechanically.
SAFETY NOTES
If uncured silicone rubber comes into contact with the eyes or mucous membranes, the affected area should be rinsed thoroughly with water, otherwise irritation will be caused. Cured silicone rubber, however, can be handled without any health risk.
Keep out of the reach of children.
